It's all over but the diploma!

Thank krishna, thank buddha, thank allah, thank anybody - I've completed my last final test for my Bachelor's Degree. Now I just have to wait anxiously for the tests to be graded, then wait for them to send my diploma. There's a nice spot above my Army shadowbox for another piece of "I love me" swag. :-)

Only took me (looks at calendar) too damned long to finish it, but a milestone nonetheless, right?

The relief is palpable, I tell ya. Just . . . done. Now, I've got time for the ten or twenty novels I've been building up on my "to read" shelf. And more squirtgun fights with The Boy in the yard. hehe

I spent 12 years in the Army - it's my automatic excuse for everything.

I thought you could earn a degree in the military?

Excuse, not reason.

A teacher I had many moons ago told me that an excuse is a skin of a reason stuffed with lies. I have no reason for not finishing my degree when I was in the army - the last five years I did not go to the field for more than 2 days at a time, and all my classes are online. I just have excuses. :-)

Congrats! You're the second person on my friend's list that will be getting a bachelor's degree soon....and I should be just *starting* to work towards getting mine sometime in the near future. Good for you!
